CHATEAU CLIMENS
Château Climens is located in the sweet wine appellation of Barsac, classified in 1855 as a Premier Cru Classé - a first growth Sauternes. It has long been called the 'Lord of Barsac' in tribute to the unassailable elegance of its wines. Yep, we're talking Top Dog status.
Its history is jaw-droppingly long, dating back to 1547. Made from 100% Semillon off 35-year-old vines, Climens' distinctive character comes from the limestone terroir, its outstanding aromatic complexity neatly balanced by a heady dose of freshness and finesse.
Climens was purchased by Lucien Lurton (Château Brane- Cantenac) in 1971, and is now managed by his daughter, Bérénice. With 30 hectares under vine, Château Climens has been cultivated biodynamically since 2010 and continues to set the bar for sweet white Bordeaux wine.
